Who I am, what I do.
I’ve been fascinated by guitars since learning to play from the age of 15. Since 2013 I used my fathers workshop to try and recreate some of my favourite historic instruments. Now I have taken the step to put my knowledge and experience towards designing and building my own models.
Each instrument is made by hand, bespoke for each client. I am passionate about using hand tools over factory or CNC machinery and I’m proud that I work with a selection of ethically sourced woods, where I can, and ideally from the British Isles. I love the unique sound each piece creates.
Instruments informed by the environment
On the many hikes and runs around the beautiful environs in which I live, I can’t help but be inspired by the colour combinations that inundate the eye. Constantly changing throughout the seasons; as the designs, shape and aesthetic will throughout detoe’s lifespan, it’s the dark rich greens against the blues, pewters, graphites and charcoals of the slate that appeal to me at the moment.
